Richard Mitchell was appointed Chief Executive of University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust in October 2021 and became Chief Executive of the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group in October 2023. He is committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive care and supporting staff to deliver the best for patients across both organisations.
Richard chairs the East Midlands Acute Providers Network, bringing together eight acute trusts to improve clinical services and strengthen recruitment and retention. He also serves as Chair of the East Midlands Cancer Alliance, working to enhance cancer outcomes and pathways, and leads the Midlands Regional Talent and Leadership Board, promoting compassionate, inclusive leadership across the region.
