We host the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), which we run in partnership with the Universities of Leicester and Loughborough, as one of only 20 BRCs in the country. In addition, we host the NIHR Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC).
We also have an NIHR Clinical Research Facility, the Leicester Diabetes Centre, the University of Leicester and British Heart Foundation Cardiovascular Research Centre, National Centre for Drug Adherence Testing and the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, all of which are partnerships with the University of Leicester.
In addition, we have a dedicated Research Space at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, and the Hope Cancer Trials Centre for early phase clinical trials, which is supported by local charity, Hope Against Cancer.
Many of our research team members also work in clinical areas with patients.
