Julie Hogg joined University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) in April 2022 as Chief Nurse. In November 2024, she was appointed Group Chief Nurse for UHL and the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group. As Group Chief Nurse, she oversees nursing, midwifery and allied health professional strategy across the organisation and the wider group. She is trusted to shape a people‑centred culture that promotes excellence in compassionate care and workforce wellbeing.
Previously, Julie served as Chief Nurse at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (SFH). During her tenure, SFH was named 2021 HSJ Acute and Specialist Trust of the Year, became a recognised centre of excellence in women’s and children’s care, and laid the groundwork for the Nursing and Midwifery Pathway to Excellence© accreditation.
Julie is a Registered Nurse and Midwife. She introduced strengths‑based recruitment and staff safety walk‑rounds in maternity, championing psychological safety and inclusive workforce initiatives. She has also supported strategic developments such as the DAISY Award programme and cross‑regional maternity improvement collaborations.
