Prashanth Patel is Clinical Director for Clinical Screening and Imaging at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. He is a consultant metabolic physician and chemical pathologist, providing specialist diagnostic and clinical care to support accurate, timely decision-making across complex patient pathways.
Prashanth is also an Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Leicester. His research focuses on non-adherence to cardiovascular medications – a critical barrier to effective treatment. He co-led the establishment of the UK’s first National Centre for Adherence Testing (NCAT) at UHL and is recognised as a pioneer in the field. NCAT now provides services to over 50 centres across the UK and internationally, supporting improved outcomes through personalised, evidence-based approaches to adherence.
