At University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL), we are committed to being open and transparent about how we operate.
The publication scheme is designed to help you easily access information that we routinely make available. We already share a lot of information on our website. This is called our Publication Scheme, and it includes things like:
- How we make decisions
- Lists and registers
- Our policies and guidelines
- The services we offer
- What our priorities are and how we are doing
- What we spend and how we spend it
- Who we are and what we do
This is a requirement under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and supports our commitment to accountability and transparency in the way we deliver healthcare services.

If the information you’re looking for isn’t on our website, you can ask for it. Wherever possible, we aim to make the information covered by our publication scheme available online. However, where this is not possible, for example if information is only held in a hard copy format, you can still ask for a copy of the document(s).
If you need assistance or wish to request information, please contact the team on [email protected].
Costs information
As with Freedom of Information requests, there may be a fee for providing information in hard copy. If any charges apply, you will be notified in advance. Fees are not applied in all cases and will depend on the size and volume of the requested material.
We charge 10p per additional page for requests exceeding 50 pages, along with the cost of postage and packaging. If the total cost is less than £5, no charge will be made. For costs exceeding £5, payment must be received before the information is released.
