Located at the Leicester General Hospital, the East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC) is a modern, purpose-built facility designed to help reduce waiting times for appointments and treatments.
The EMPCC allows us to continue delivering high-quality planned care – even during peak times in other parts of the hospital, such as urgent and emergency services.

Self check-in kiosks
When you arrive at the East Midlands Planned Care Centre, you can use one of our self check-in kiosks if you’re attending an outpatient appointment or outpatient procedure. If you’re here for a medical or surgical day case, please follow the signs for your department or speak to a member of staff at the main entrance.
Our self check-in kiosks work in a similar way to those at many GP practices. Please bring your appointment letter, and be prepared to enter some basic personal details to confirm your identity. Once checked in, the kiosk will provide clear directions to your clinic or waiting area.
