Hinckley’s £24.6 million Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) has taken centre stage in a national campaign, which highlights how new facilities are transforming patient care across England.
The Department for Health and Social Care has featured Hinckley CDC in two short video case studies, to showcase how community-based diagnostics are helping patients to access tests and treatments faster – while easing pressure on acute hospitals.
The state-of-the-art centre, which opened in June 2025, offers a wide range of diagnostic services closer to home, giving patients greater choice and convenience.
Services include:
- Imaging, including CT, MRI, ultrasound and X-ray
- Cardiology and respiratory care
- Endoscopy
- Audiology
- Paediatric respiratory
- Phlebotomy
The campaign features both colleagues and patients, sharing real stories of how CDCs are improving access to appointments for vital procedures.
“The community diagnostic centre has made life so much easier for me. These types of facilities are very important for local people and help make care more accessible,” said Alfie, a patient who features in the videos.
