Some patients are still required to attend hospital in person for their appointment, as this may be the best option for their care.
If you have been invited to a face-to-face appointment at one of our hospitals, please follow these steps to help keep everyone safe:
- Sanitise your hands when you arrive.
- Wear a face mask if requested.
- Attend alone if possible: this helps reduce the number of people in our clinics and lowers the risk of infection.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe environment for all our patients, visitors, and staff.
Preparing for your visit
To help your appointment go smoothly, please follow these simple steps:
- Read your appointment letter carefully: it may include special instructions, such as arriving early for tests or bringing medication with you.
- Arrive on time: being late could delay your appointment.
- Plan your journey in advance: check transport and parking options so you arrive with plenty of time.
- New patients: be ready to share your medical history, including any past illnesses or allergies.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing: it may need to be removed for your examination or tests.
- Bring any requested samples: as mentioned in your appointment letter.
- Bring a list of your current medications: including any tablets, and your GP medicine card if you have one. If you’re having problems with any medication, bring it in the original packaging so we can check it properly.
Please note: multiple doctors may be running clinics in the same area. If someone who arrived after you is seen first, they are likely seeing a different doctor. If you think you’ve been waiting too long, please speak to the reception or nursing staff.
If the appointment is for you, try to avoid bringing young children, as play facilities are limited in adult clinic areas.
Please do not attend your appointment if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, or have suffered with sickness/diarrhoea in the last 48 hours. If this does affect you please call the relevant clinic to be re-booked at a later date.
