Chapels and prayer rooms

Patients, visitors, and staff are welcome to use the chapels and prayer rooms located across all our hospital sites.

These spaces are open 24 hours a day and are available to people of all faiths, beliefs, and worldviews. They offer a quiet place for personal prayer, reflection, or meditation, and are also used for religious services and belief-specific rituals.

Everyone is invited to use these spaces respectfully, regardless of their background or beliefs.

Leicester Royal Infirmary

The Chapel is next to the lifts on the ground floor (level 0) in the Balmoral building. This includes prayer rooms with Wudhu facilities. The Chapel and prayer rooms are open at all times.

Glenfield Hospital

There is a small Chapel opposite Ward 28 on the first floor. The prayer room is located near the intensive care unit on the first floor.

Leicester General Hospital

The Chapel and prayer room are off the main hospital corridor near Ward 15.
