The Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES) are national frameworks used by NHS trusts to assess race and disability equality in career progression and staff experience, while the Workforce Gender Equality Standard (WGES) is a local initiative monitoring gender equality within UHL.
This report is based on the trust’s workforce as at 31 March 2026 and staff experience data from the 2025 NHS Staff Survey. The data are submitted annually to NHS England, with trusts required to publish an action plan addressing key findings by 31 October each year.
