The LDC has a national and international reputation for clinical care underpinned by innovative and world-leading clinical research. The Centre has a large portfolio of research studies that include, but are not limited to, the areas of early detection, prevention, structured education, and new therapies. The results of past studies have had an impact on local NHS policies, Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) programmes and National Institute of Care Excellence (NICE) Guidance.
The LDC provides evidence-based teaching and training for both patients and health care professionals. Its training and education also have an international focus, working with Low-Middle Income Countries (LMICs) as part of its global outreach programme.
The Centre is a clinical facility located on-site at the Leicester General Hospital. It has a clinical research space accommodating a multidisciplinary team of academics, medics, nurses, dietitians, physiotherapists, and many more besides. LDC provides access to:
