The Theatre arrivals area (TAA) is a well-established concept across the NHS, designed to streamline and enhance the experience for patients undergoing day-case or ambulatory surgery.
This dedicated space allows patients to be admitted on the day of their operation, where they are welcomed and prepared by our specialist nursing team. During their time in the TAA, patients also have the opportunity to meet with their anaesthetist and surgeon, ask any final questions, and complete essential pre-operative checks in a calm, supportive environment.
Once fully prepared, patients are taken on a short, seamless journey to the operating theatre for their procedure.
The TAA plays a key role in improving patient flow, reducing waiting times, and ensuring a more personal and efficient surgical experience.
