Our Vascular Ultrasound team includes highly trained Clinical Vascular Scientists who hold specialist postgraduate qualifications. Many are officially recognised as Accredited Vascular Scientists (AVS) and are registered with the College and Society for Vascular Science (CSVS) and/or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as Clinical Scientists.
Some team members may still be working towards full accreditation. In these cases, they are CSVS members and are gaining experience under supervision. We’re also supported by skilled Vascular Practitioners, an administration team, and a Pathway Coordinator, working together to provide safe, high-quality care.

I also enjoying training others and have been a member of the Education Committee for our professional body, the Society of Vascular Technology since 2014. Away from work, my favourite place to be is outdoors with our 2 young boys and energetic dog!

I started in VSU as a trainee in 2013 and qualified through the Scientist Training Programme in 2016 and have been with the Vascular service ever since. I spent two and a half years on the Female Aneurysm Screening Study, which was one of the largest research projects of its kind and published in medical journals such as The Lancet and The British Journal of Surgery. I enjoy all aspects of vascular sonography, particularly liking carotid and lower limb arterial scans.

I joined the VSU team in 2015 after completing my vascular ultrasound course in 2014, following roles as the Aneurysm Screening Manager, and AAA ultrasound screening nurse. I trained and worked as a nurse since 2000, working in a variety of settings including emergency medicine and education and practice development. I love sonography in general and the challenges my role brings on daily basis, so working with highly motived and specialised team helps me to improve and evolve my clinical skills for the betterment of the clients /patients. I am ever grateful to have this supportive and thriving team. Outside of work, I enjoy church activities and road trips with family.

In January 2024 I joined the Vascular Studies Unit as a Trainee Clinical Vascular Scientist and working towards my SVT professional accreditation. As a trainee, I am constantly learning and getting hands on clinical experience with the assistance of my knowledgeable and supportive team. Outside of work I enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

I previously worked as a Diabetic Eye Screener/ Grader, and joined the VSU team in Jan 2024. I’m currently working towards my goal to become a Vascular Practitioner, training with the VSU team and completing a BSc Vascular Science. My team is supportive and skilful which have definitely inspired me to work my way up to become a Clinical Vascular Scientist as a long term goal. Vascular science is fascinating and I look forward to see how I far I can develop in this field.

I started working for UHL in 2000 as a Medical Physics Technician, and also trained in Urodynamics. I provide Vascular Technician services across all 3 UHL sites, and completed training for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm ultrasound scans in 2015. I enjoy international traveling, eating out and mobile technology.

I started my work within the UHL as a domestic at the Leicester General in 2008. I was then able to join the TIA Clinic team in 2010 as the clinic coordinator, looking after patients who were being investigated for mini-strokes in the urgent busy one-stop clinics. It was a huge decision to leave there to join VSU team, but this was made easy as I already knew VSU staff from their work in the TIA clinic. Outside of work I love being around my family, especially my 8 grandchildren who I love to spoil. For relaxing I love going to the theatre.
