Car parking
The prices in our car parks will be changing from Monday 1 September 2025.
New tariffs are available further down this page.
Most hospital car parks at the Leicester Royal Infirmary operate an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system on a pay-on-foot basis. Simply park your vehicle, attend your appointment or visit, and then pay at one of the pay stations before exiting the car park.
The main multi-storey car park is accessed via Havelock Street and open 24 hours a day, every day. A one-way system is in place meaning most vehicles exit via Aylestone Road.
The Adult Emergency Department Car Park operates on a pay-and-display basis. When you arrive, please purchase a ticket for the required duration and display it clearly in your vehicle’s front windscreen.
Please note pay-and-display machines accept cash only. However, card payments can be made at the car park office, open 8am to 4pm.
Cycle and motorbike parking
Parking exists for cycles and motorbikes at the main entrance to each of the hospitals, for more detailed locations see the hospital site maps. Parking is free for cycles and motorbikes.

To claim the £6.10 maximum charge you must:
- Ask a member of staff on the ward or department to sign, date and write the time you leave on your appointment card, letter or a compliments slip
- Take the signed, dated and time stamped appointment card, letter or compliments slip to the car park office for your discount. The time on your card must be within a reasonable period of the time you show it to the car park office.
